Sep. 22, 1979 : Jochiwon Campus Installation Plan approved (University 1041.1 - 1360)
Jan. 1980 : Jochiwon Campus Installation approved - Total registration quota of 400 in 8 departments (Business Administration, Trading, Economics, English Language and Literature, German Language and Literature, Chinese Language and Literature, Physics, and Chemistry)
Jan. 22, 1980 : Department of Academic and Student Affairs created
Feb. 29, 1980 : Inauguration of the first Dean Professor Kim Si Joong
July 16, 1980 : Commencement of construction of the first and second Education Buildings
Oct 2, 1980 : Installation of the Departments of Korean Language and Literature, Sociology, Mathematics, and Applied Statistics approved
Feb. 2, 1981 : General Affairs Section created
Feb. 23, 1981 : Relocation to current site
May 1, 1981 : Head Position of the Department of Academic and Student Affairs created
May 29, 1981 : Completion of the first and second education buildings (total area of 141,834 square feet)
Oct. 1982 : Establishment of the Department of Public Administration approved
Oct. 20, 1982 : Jochiwon Campus restructured into the Colleges of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Business and Commerce
Oct. 23, 1982 : Third education building (Total Area of 14,731 square feet) completed
Mar. 1, 1983 : Professor Kim Kwon Ho inaugurated as Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Dean of the College of Business and Commerce
July 18, 1983 : Jochiwon Library restructured as a branch library of the Central Library; Jochiwon Library Service Section created
Mar. 1, 1984 : Professor Kim Hui Jip inaugurated as Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Dean of the College of Business and Commerce
Mar. 1, 1985 : Professor Kang Woo Hyung inaugurated as Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Dean of the College of Business and Commerce
June 15, 1985 : Completion of the 5th education building (total area of 63,444 square feet)
Aug. 26, 1986 : Professor Kim Jung Bae inaugurated as Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Dean of the College of Business and Commerce
Oct. 2, 1986 Departments of Academic and Student Affairs of the Colleges of Liberal Arts and Sciences and Business and Commerce restructured into the Departments of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs
Nov. 6, 1986 : Departments of Computing and Biology Engineering established in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
Nov. 7, 1986 : Korea Studies Research Center and the Industry Development Research Center installed as Annexed Research Organizations
Nov. 28, 1986 : Sports Science Building (total area of 24,908 square feet) completed
Mar. 1, 1987 : Name of General Affairs Section changed
June 1, 1987 : Second Counseling Center installed within Student Life Research Center
Aug. 10, 1987 : Seochang Dormitory commences construction
Oct. 23, 1987 : College of Liberal Arts and Sciences restructured into the Colleges of Humanities and Natural Sciences; Number of colleges increased to 3
Oct. 23, 1987 : Departments of Information Technology and Food Engineering established within the College of Natural Sciences
Nov. 1, 1987 : Jochiwon Campus officially renamed Seochang Campus
Feb. 11, 1988 : Offices of Academics and Student Affairs and General Affairs installed and Accounting Section created
Feb. 13, 1988 : Seochang Campus Executive Vice Presidential System instituted. Professor Kim Si Joong inaugurated as first Executive Vice President
June 1, 1988 : Seochang Campus Computing Center annex installed
Oct. 29, 1988 : College of Humanities Department of Archaeology and Art History, College of Natural Sciences Departments of Control and Instrumentation Engineering, Environmental Science, Public Health Science, and Public Physical Education,  and College of Business and Commerce Department of Business Information installed
Nov. 15, 1988 : Seochang Library construction commenced
Nov. 28, 1988 : Installation of the Graduate School of Local Society Development approved
Dec. 6, 1988 : Graduate School of Local Society Development Academic and Student Affairs Section created
Dec. 8, 1988 : Seochang Dormitory Service Organization created and General Affairs Section installed
Feb. 22, 1989 : Seochang Dormitory completed
Feb. 28, 1989 : One floor added to the 5th education building (total area 16,581 square feet)
Aug. 9, 1989 : Professor Kang Woo Hyung inaugurated as Sejong Campus Executive Vice President
Nov. 27, 1989 : Site preparation for the construction of the Natural Science Building began
Dec. 6, 1989 : Seochang Construction Field Office closed and Facility Management Section created
