The Department of Public Administration was established on Korea University’s Sejong Campus to foster experts capable of contributing to national development. More than 70% of all Central Government Agencies are based in Sejong Metropolitan Self-Governing City, such as the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. In the Department of Public Administration, students acquire knowledge and gain experience inherent in analyzing public policy and study ways in which organizations can be operated with optimum efficiency. Students are offered various lectures on establishing public service, accessing public policy, and managing government finances. The Department of Public Administration offers actual training applicable to the real-world practice of governments in Sejong City to enhance their practical knowledge.

In addition, the school actively supports students striving to become national and local officials by establishing and operating the Hyungsuljae study room for students who are preparing for various state examinations, including that of Public Administration. Many of the graduates enter various government institutes as high-ranking officials.

The Department of Public Administration has an excellent faculty with both theoretical and practical competence, many of whom have earned doctorates from highly renowned universities in Korea and abroad.
