Korea University Takes Lead in Practical Research: 3rd KUS New Challenger Awards Ceremony
On September 21, Korea University held an awards ceremony for the 3rd KUS New Challenger at the Research & Business Cooperation Building.
In addition to the awardees, the event was attended by Vice President Kim Young, Kim Hee-seok, director of Research & Business, and Professor Kim Jae-gyeom.
The KUS NEW Challenger strives to encourage faculty members who are new to external business activities by instilling a strong sense of belonging. The grants are intended for full-time faculty members who are launching their external business within their first three years of employment and can only be presented once per individual.
“Our younger faculty members will play a pivotal role in shaping the next century of Sejong Campus,” said Vice President Kim. “We anticipate their future contributions to our school’s development.”
Director Kim Hee-seok congratulated the members on their first business venture, saying, "We believe their research proficiency will greatly benefit the standing of Sejong Campus."
A total of seven professors were honored, including Kim Jae-gyeom from the Department of Food and Biotechnology, Kim Han-jun from the Department of Pharmacy, Song Young-eun from the Department of Autonomous Mobility, Shin Yong-gu from the Department of Electronics and Information Engineering, Lee Hyung-jin from the Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, Han Mi-ran from the Department of AI Cybersecurity, and Hwang Sejong-min from the Department of AI Semiconductor Engineering.
Professor Kim Han-jun expressed his appreciation by saying, "I will devote myself further to this endeavor so as to give a helping hand to the continued growth of Sejong Campus."
