On June 3, Korea University Sejong Campus held a ceremony at Nongshim Hall to mark the third anniversary of the launch of the Sejong Research & Business Foundation. On this day, Sejong Research & Business Foundation celebrated the third anniversary of its launch and renewed its pledge to make a leap forward ‘Convergence Cluster Campus for Sustainable Development Research & Business ‘. Figures from relevant government agencies and the CEO of a family company in Sejong had attended in this event.

Sejong Research & Business Foundation, which launched as an independent corporation in June 2016, has some effort to improve research capacity and plays an important part to encourage Sejong Campus’s development, introducing Family Company System and cooperating with Research & Development. Currently, the Sejong Research & Business Foundation has three teams-research support team, technology planning team and research strategy planning team-as well as Sejong Entrepreneurship Education Center.

In CEO Baek Seungpil’s opening speech, he said that he will fulfill his responsibility and role in promoting the industry in Sejong by establishing a network of cooperation between the university and industry. Sejong Vice President An Cheung-O thanked and encouraged officials of the Sejong Research & Business Foundation, which has been developing as a hub for industrial and academic cooperation in Sejong City.

Under the theme of ‘University-Academic Cooperation through Technical Support and Industrial Support’, the event was followed by a special lecture by Yoon Seokbae, section chef of the Ministry of SMEs in Industrial Innovation Policy section, and a special lecture by Lee Joonbae, chairman of Korea Accelerator Association under the theme of ‘Startup and Accelerator’. In addition, Shim Hoyoung, head of InfobioTech (CEO Ko Kwangmyung)’s Institute of Technology, shared excellent results by announcing excellent cases of industrial and academic cooperation with family companies.
