On June 5, an award ceremony for the 9th Book Report Contest was held in room 102A of the Younglim Forestry Multizone, which is located in the first reading room of the Korea University Sejong Campus library. During this event, a short meeting and an award ceremony was held for the nineteen teams that were selected in the first and second rounds of a book report contest that was conducted from April 15 to 18. The Book Report Contest, which is conducted every year in the library, is a part of the KU Reading Plan program to encourage students to participate in contests, and involves free distribution of the contest books to students on a first come, first serve basis.

Kim Seongpyo, director of the Korea University Sejong Campus library, said, “Many participants, about one hundred or so, applied for this book report contest, and I congratulate the nineteen students who were selected from among them.” He added, “I think the practice of reading a book and the thought process that goes along with it, are the means to gaining the assets necessary to live in the world. I hope the contest will be a helpful opportunity for you to plan your new university life and your future.” Afterwards, the award ceremony ended with a closing address, and time was given for the attendees to share their thoughts and impressions of the contest.

Lee Seungjin, a student from the Department of Management who was awarded the grand prize in the contest, said, “I usually write book reports, but it was a really interesting experience to write a book report in a fresh new way while participating in this contest. Thank you for giving me a chance to engage in the process of the contest and I hope that various contests or other events related to books will be held going forward.”
