<Digital Media Culture Convergence Holds Worldwide Environment Day Event>

On June 9, Digital Media Culture Convergence (DMCCAM), under the guidance of Lecturer Hong Jangseon, held a project called 'Micro-distance Between Us' in the Yeonsa-ro rest area. This event was held by students from DMCCAM to promote environmental issues to citizens, and it not only informed people about environmental problems, but also helped them overcome their fear of connecting with others.

DMCCAM operated a booth that offered many special activities like City Fisher, Flower Pot Hunting, Comic Fishing, and other many games. There was also a popular tasting event where plastic straws were replaced by eco-friendly materials like paper, rice, stainless steel, and more. Additionally, there was a DIY flower pot-making activity to share handmade flower pots with their friends and family. This was a great opportunity for the 300 people who participated to realize the seriousness of environmental problems. DMCCAM gifted the participants with fine dust purifying flower pots, eco-friendly straws, and detergent.

Song Seungyeon, a student from Culture Content, who helped put on this event said, "This event was held for the people who fear making connections with others so that they might have an opportunity to give hand-written letters and flower pots as gifts. Though this event, I hope many overcome those fears."

This project was supported by companies like Privatization, Propec, Yonjigonji, Eco-End, Eco-Round, Promteo, I-soi, and more, who provided many different eco-friendly products. Also, donations collected during the event will go to the 'Incheon Forest of Hope' volunteer organization which plants trees in Mongolia to reduce its fine dust.
