<Korea University Women’s Football Team Wins 18th National Women’s Football Championship>

On August 4, the Korea University Women’s Football team won the ‘18th National Women’s Soccer Championship' title, beating the Ulsan Science University Football team by a score of 3-2 in Kyungnam Hapcheon. The competition, hosted by the Korea Football Association and the Korea Women’s Football Federation, and managed by Hapcheon-gun, was held on July 23. About two thousand players from sixty-five elementary, middle, high school, university, and business teams participated in the competition.

The women’s football team, which won all six of their matches in this tournament and continued their sweeping dominance, took home their third trophy this year after winning the Spring Women’s Football Federation League and the Queen’s National Women’s Football Championship. In other good news from the tournament, Jung Suyeon, a student from the Faculty of Global Sport Studies, was chosen as the MVP; Chae Minhee, also from the Faculty of Global Sport Studies, was awarded the GK prize; Coach Ko Hyunho was awarded the prize for Best Coach; and Assistant Coach Lee Seunghyun was awarded the prize for Best Assistant Coach.

The next match for the dominant Korea University Women’s Football squad is ‘the 100th National Sports Festival’ in October.
