<17th Sejong Jochiwon Peach Festival Held>

The 17th Sejong Jochiwon Peach Festival was held by the Sejong Culture Arts Center from August 3 to 4. This festival, which is a leading local festival in Sejong City held every August, has the dual purpose of providing peaches at a low price to festival attendees while bringing residents together. Especially, this festival was held under the main theme of ‘Dodo’ (meaning haughty in Korean), ‘ha’ (meaning summer in Chinese), and ‘re’ (meaning return), which can be summed up as Jochiwon's peaches being reborn into the summer festival while showing off their excellent quality.

This festival was composed of five themes: ‘Will Be Haughty,’ ‘Will Be Fresh,’ ‘DODOha-re,’ ‘Will Reminisce,’ and ‘Will Be Full,’ and was held as a ‘green’ festival without the presence of alcohol or cigarettes. The festival was selected and designated for promotion on the culture tour by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This year, many visitors of different age groups enjoyed a waterslide, a large pool, a concert at the ‘Will Be Haughty’ booth, a special peach sale at the ‘Will Be Fresh’ booth, an Art & Goods and a peach karaoke experience zone at the ‘DODOha-re’ booth, a cosmos photo zone at the ‘Will Reminisce’ booth, and various foods at the ‘Will Be Full’ booth.

Lee Juhyeong, a student from Creative Writing and Media Studies who operated the ‘DODOha-re’ booth, said of this festival that, “I appreciate many people’s interest and participation in the festival despite the hot weather. I hope various festivals are held many times in the future like this one.”
